Sunday afternoon in New York the Knicks, fueled by Carmelo Anthony's 35 points, beat the injury-riddled Los Angeles Lakers 110-103. Here's what Melo said after the game:
Carmelo Anthony on today's game: I was trying to lock in again and get it going from the start and hopefully give my teammates some momentum to build and feed off of.
Anthony on Tim Hardaway Jr, Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith: I don't think they wanted to watch me play offensively... they wanted to be a part of it, and they did. We talked about them [being] more aggressive. They were aggressive from the start and everybody seemed to get it going.
Anthony on the fourth quarter: We stopped them on the defensive end. We held them to one stop and played great defense down the stretch.
Anthony on the Knicks two-game winning streak: We needed them. It is a boost for us from a confidence standpoint, and we need to start building here on our home court.
Anthony on the rest of the season: It is the energy and mindset of everybody now. We will take it one game at a time, continue it Tuesday, and try to continue the winning streak.
