Doin' it in the Park documentary is a hit

Basketball fans in search of a hoops-focused movie or documentary that actually brings something to the table for a change are in luck. InsideHoops.com editor Jeff Lenchiner recently caught the full version of the "Doin' it in the Park" documentary from Bobbito Garcia and Kevin Couliau and officially recommends it as worth going out of your way to see. It's an honest, strikingly personal, refreshing reminder of the joys of pick-up basketball. There's heavy focus on the local legend aspect of street hoops, and how communities around New York City almost all have heroes from right around the corner for local players to idolize (and try to beat). The film, focused on the parks of NYC, serves as a great reminder of how you probably came to play, watch and love basketball in the first place.
After seeing Doin' it in the Park, don't surpress any sudden urges to rush outside and hit the park you grew up playing at. The film illustrates with great success the feeling of not caring about anything else in the world while on the court. Quite simply, Doin' It in the Park is on point and really hits the spot. We at InsideHoops.com definitely enjoyed it.
