Gary Harris interview, pre-draft interview quotesThe following are some Gary Harris pre-draft interview quotes from Wednesday, one day before the 2014 NBA Draft. Harris played basketball at Michigan State and is a talented 2014 NBA draft prospect:

Question: What do you think people don’t realize that Adreian Payne will be able to bring to the NBA?

Gary Harris: : He’s 6-10 and can shoot three pointers and can catch crazy lobs. He’s just a freak athlete that can shoot jumpers at 6-10 and I don’t see why you wouldn’t want that.

Question: How much would this mean to your family?

Harris: : It means a lot. I am the first born in my family and this is something we are going to remember for the rest of our lives. I am on cloud nine with my little brothers. My youngest brother likes it, but my middle brother loves it. He is eating it up right now.

Question: What are the things that you’ve learned while playing at Michigan State?

Harris: : I learned a lot especially from Coach (Tom) Izzo. Coach Izzo helped me grow as a player on the court but helped me mature as a man off the court. With everything that he has done for me, I can’t thank him enough.

Question: What about your life will change the most with playing in the NBA?

Harris: : I only have to worry about basketball. I don’t have to worry about school and you get paid to play now. You also get to travel everywhere. My eyes have been open to a lot of things I didn’t get to see in a college town. It is still the same game, but you have to go about it in a different way. You still have to put in the work and continue to get better but you have to be more cautious because this is job. You can get fired and be unemployed. If you are not playing good you don’t play and you are not going to be part of the organization.
