Knicks eliminated from 2015 playoff contention

At 13-53, the Knicks have the worst record in the NBA through Sunday's games. Their best player, Carmelo Anthony, is out for the rest of the season. Missing the playoffs was to become a mathematical certainty. And according to the New York Post, that point has arrived:
The Knicks took the court at U.S. Airways Arena Sunday for the very first time this season with zero percent chance of reaching the playoffs. That’s not a joke, but a statistical fact.
Saturday’s blowout loss to the Warriors had mathematically eliminated the Knicks from the playoffs.
Yes, it took that long in the woeful Eastern Conference.
One night after embarrassing themselves at Golden State, the Knicks stayed competitive with the Suns, but blew an 11-point first-half lead to fall 102-89 and conclude their Western journey at 1-4.
More noteworthy is the Knicks finished their Western Conference road schedule at 1-14 — the lone win coming against the Lakers Thursday.
