The Tyshawn Taylor era in Brooklyn has ended. True, it never really began. Nevertheless, it's over.
The Brooklyn Nets have traded guard Tyshawn Taylor, along with cash considerations, to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for the draft rights to Edin Bavcic, it was announced today by General Manager Billy King.
Bavcic, a forward out of Bosnia, was selected by the Toronto Raptors with the 56th overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft. Since being drafted, Bavcic has played professionally in Europe and has yet to sign with an NBA team.
In two seasons with Brooklyn, Taylor posted career averages of 2.9 points and 0.9 assists in 61 games. It's tough to say what kind of career Taylor will have in the NBA. He didn't play enough for us to have a firm grasp on his abilities or upside. He must continue to work and prove himself worthy of having a place in this league.
