The Oklahoma City Thunder signed guard Michael Jenkins along with forwards Richard Soloman, Lance Thomas and Talib Zanna, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti.
We assume these are just OKC Thunder training camp signings, and that the deals do not extend into the regular season.
Jenkins (6-3, 195), spent last season playing in Italy and since concluding his collegiate career at Winthrop University in 2008, Jenkins also spent time playing in Montenegro and Germany. While at Winthrop, Jenkins led the program to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and finished as the 10th all-time leading scorer in school history.
Soloman (6-10, 235), recently concluded a four-year career playing career at the University of California where he led the Pac-12 in rebounding this past season. As a senior, Soloman averaged a double-double as the Los Angeles, Calif. native posted 11.0 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.
Thomas (6-8, 225), has appeared in 109 NBA games (19 starts) all with the New Orleans Pelicans. A four-year letterman at Duke, Thomas was a member of the Blue Devils 2010 NCAA championship team. Last season, Thomas played five games for New Orleans before signing with the Foshan Dralions in China where he went onto play 16 games (15 starts) and average 26.1 points and 10.1 rebounds in 42.4 minutes.
Zanna (6-9, 230), joins the Thunder after spending the past four years playing at the University of Pittsburgh. A native of Nigeria, Zanna received All-ACC Honorable Mention accolades this past season after averaging 13.0 points and 8.6 rebounds for the Panthers.
The Oklahoma City Thunder roster now stands at 18.
