Nets waive Matt Walsh, Awvee Storey
InsideHoops NewsWire | Oct. 26, 2006
The New Jersey Nets have requested waivers on forwards Matt Walsh and Awvee Storey, Nets President Rod Thorn announced today.
In seven preseason contests, Walsh averaged 4.4 ppg and 3.6 rpg, while Storey averaged 3.4 ppg and 1.4 rpg. Both players originally signed with the Nets on October 2, 2006.
Neither player had much of a shot at making the roster. Although the team has been in negotiations to trade or buy-out Jeff McInnis, he's still on the team, and is the 15th man on the roster. So, there's no room for anyone else at this time.
