Herbert Hill to have left knee surgery
Philadelphia 76ers President Billy King announced today that rookie forward Herbert Hill has suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee and will travel to Birmingham, Alabama to undergo surgery preformed by Dr. James Andrews. Team Physician Dr. Jack McPhilemy will also travel to Birmingham to assist in the procedure, which will take place on Tuesday.
A product of Providence College, Hill was originally drafted by the Utah Jazz with the 55th overall selection in the 2007 NBA Draft, before being dealt to the Sixers in a draft night trade for Kyrylo Fesenko and future draft considerations.
Hill appeared in five preseason games, averaging 2.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 0.8 blocks.
