DJ Mbenga tears ACL, done for season

dj mbenga acl tearCenter DJ Mbenga, who left in the fourth quarter of last night’s game against Memphis with a right knee strain, was re-evaluated today. An MRI revealed he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear.

Mbenga (7-0, 255) will undergo surgery in the next two weeks and is out for the reminder of this season. There is currently no timetable for his return.

Mbenga has played in 21 games for Dallas this season and has averages of 0.8 points, 0.5 rebounds and 0.24 blocks in 3.8 minutes. The native of Congo is in his third season with the Mavericks.
