Chicago Bulls Blog: Bulls handle the Mavs
Bulls Basketball Game, Jan. 26, 2007

Chicago 96, Dallas 85 -- The AP reports: P.J. Brown's first priority was guarding Dirk Nowitzki. The key points Brown scored in the fourth quarter were a bonus for the Chicago Bulls. Brown played his typically good defense and scored six points down the stretch to help Chicago snap the Dallas Mavericks' eight-game winning streak with a 96-85 victory Thursday night. "Tonight things were rolling and the ball felt good," said Brown, who finished with 12 points... Nowitzki had 28 points and 11 rebounds, but shot 7-for-22 from the field and the Mavericks lost for just the second time in 23 games. Ben Gordon scored 30 points for Chicago and Luol Deng added 21... Kirk Hinrich added 15 points and eight rebounds and Ben Wallace had 17 rebounds for Chicago, who improved to 19-6 at home.

Chicago Bulls Blog: Team Review
By InsideHoops.com, Jan. 1, 2007

The Bulls, after a slow start, are playing great basketball and currently have a 19-12 record, putting them second in the Central division. They look like a playoff team that could go two or three rounds, possibly even reaching the finals.

Ben Gordon, who comes off the bench, leads the team in scoring with 20.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists. He started 6 of 31 games, and appears destined to continue his role as a super-scorer reserve.

Luol Deng is having a breakout season, putting up 18.0 points on amazing 53.7% shooting, plus 6.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals. He's doing more than his stats suggest.

Kirk Hinrich runs the point and is playing his usual terrific defense.

New Bull Ben Wallace struggled a bit initially but now fits in fine.

Andres Nocioni, who has started 25 out of 31 games, plays his rugged style to full effect, annoying opponents with his scrappy play. And 15.6 points with 5.9 rebounds doesn't hurt, either.

We'll be updating Chicago Bulls news and this Bulls blog regularly all season.
