Shawn Bradley Interview
By INSIDEHOOPS.COM

We caught up 7'6" Dallas Mavericks center Shawn Bradley recently and talked to Shawn about what stands out about him the most, his height. Fortunately, Shawn was sitting down for this interview, therefore allowing us to actually hear what he was saying.

Jeff: Talk to me about your growth spurts when you were, lets say, around 12 or so.

Shawn Bradley:  When I was in 6th grade I was 6'1", when I was in 7th grade I was 6'4", in 8th grade I was 6'8", 9th grade I was 6'11", my senior year I grew to be 7'6". That's basically about how I grew... my whole life.

Jeff:  And did you always play basketball, even before...

Shawn Bradley:   Sure, my whole life. I played a lot of sports. I lived in a real small town...

Jeff:  Which small town?

Shawn Bradley:  A small town in central Utah named Castledale, 'bout 15 hundred people, and there wasn't a lot to do so we did a lot of sports.

Jeff:   So when you were young and hadn't grown quite so tall yet which sports did you like?

Shawn Bradley:  I loved all sports, I mean I really did, I mean, basketball and baseball were my two favorite. I've played basketball and baseball longer than I have any other sports, so, I enjoyed playing football, I loved riding the horses, on the ranch, all those different things. I liked the outdoors.
